I began my photography journey 10 years ago, falling head-over-heels in love with landscape photography.  My journey started as an escape from my decades long healthcare career in the Cardiac Cath Lab, but it became so much more than a mere distraction.  I have always enjoyed exploring the beautiful and vast scenes of the outdoors, and photographing them ignited a whole new passion for it.  The awe of the scenery, the peace and creativity of photographing it. I love capturing nature and its obvious beauty, but I especially love photographing ordinary or harsh aspects of landscapes, revealing beauty others may not see.  

Short Story Visuals was first launched in July 2024 as a portrait photography service; it was to be my "escape plan" from my career in healthcare which had become something unrecognizable from when, and the reasons I started in it.  But my portrait photography lacked the passion I have for landscape photograpy, it just wasn't true to who I am, and I found myself returning to landscape more and more, reigniting that spark.  A year later I decided to recreate the business to reflect my passion, though this had to be put on hold due to an unforeseen tragedy.  In October 2025, my fiance suffered a rare spinal cord injury, and all at once I had to abandon both my healthcare career and my photography to be his full time caregiver.  Three months into his recovery, when there was a moment to breathe, I realized how much I missed photography, and how badly I needed to have that creativity in my life–it was my therapy, my outlet–and I wanted to retain my business. I decided now was the time to relaunch Short Story Visuals as my landscape photography gallery and print shop, featuring my favorite works.

This is my passion. This is heart and soul.
